Xhromatogram views AIA chromatography data
files having the extension .cdf. To open a
chromatogram in a new window, you may
• Double-click the data file
• Drag the data file onto the Xhromatogram icon
• Select File|Open... from the main menu within
the application
The chromatogram trace shows in the upper
pane of the split window. Its processed peak
results, if any, show in a table in the in the lower
pane.
The default units for retention or migration time
axis are seconds. You can change the units and
dependent calculated results to minutes with a
preference or settings item. The affected variables
are: peak_retention_time, peak_start_time,
peak_end_time, peak_area, peak_width, and
migration_time.
You may turn on cursor tracking to show the
time and signal values; again using a settings item.
By default, the chromatogram is captioned, and
each peak is annotated. See the section on settings
for how to change these fields.
Xhromatogram also allows multiple overlays on
top of the first chromatogram.
• Select File|Overlay... from the main menu and
choose one or more data files to overlay.
• Drag another data file onto an open window
• Drag and drop a chromatogram from another
window.
When dragging an overlay onto a window, only
the first chromatogram is copied. Drag & Drop is
activated by either option-clicking or click-and-
holding in the chromatogram area. You can adjust
the offset of the overlays in the settings panel. The
number of overlays is unlimited, but there are only

stepper control appears. When you select a
chromatogram, the annotations, caption, peak
table, and autoscale will follow your selection.
